Finished in elegant Antrim Blue metallic coachwork with Parchment sport seats, piped in Dark Blue. Top roll trimmed in Royal Blue with matching Blue Wilton carpets bound in leather piping. Headlining, A pillars, grab handles and sun-visors all trimmed exquisitely in Parchment Alcantara – headlining ribbed. Dark Blue herringbone seat belts, perforated leather door cards and a Burr Walnut steering wheel finish off the car. Â
Benefitting from a host of non-standard options which include heated, reclining and massaging seats, heated head lamps and front windscreen – for the icy winter morning. Traction control and ABS added for safety and tyre pressure monitors for added peace of mind.Â
This example rolled off the Newport Pagnell production line on 31st July 1998 in V550 Vantage specification. Suppled new via Auto Performance, Paris and ordered in left hand drive and factory manual. The Vantage was built to order of its first owner, Christen Sveaas, industrialist and world renowned art collector – original pre delivery inspection sheet and order form are both on file. Fast forward to 2006 the car was acquired by a UK collector who dispatched the Vantage to Aston Martin Works Service to prepare the car to V600 specification (Dynamic Pack). The works commenced on 16th May 2006, in addition to these works the Vantage was converted from left hand drive to right hand drive. All of these works were carried out by the men who had built the car originally. On file we have the complete invoices (17 pages) listing every item of work carried out. Since works were completed the car has covered just 7,921 miles. Â
Complete works description and parts fitted by Aston Martin Works Service:-
Removing engine from chassis to access steering column and bulkhead fittings. Removing interior trims, steering column, pedal assemblies, handbrake, steering rack and instruments etc. Installing steering column brackets, modifying heater motors and fitting pedal housing to bulkhead. Installing brake servo / master cylinder and pedal assemblies for right hand drive. Making up and installing new vacuum hoses to suit air conditioning controls and fuel system carbon canisters. Fabricating and installing new brake pipes as necessary. Installing new and re-working wiring harnesses as necessary. Cleaning engine intercooler tanks and air pipes. Re-fitting to engine with new seals and clamps as required. Re-fitting engine and transmission assemblies. Re-fitting starter motor wiring, throttle cables / linkages, exhaust manifolds etc. Installing right hand drive steering rack and connecting to steering column.Trimming dash facia, console, dash top, under-trays, handbrake etc. Removing mirror switch from left door to right door and re-trimming as necessary. Installing interior facia, instruments including new MPH speedometer, dash, console, glove box etc. Modifying wiper mechanism / linkage to allow sweep for right hand drive. Replacing and aligning headlamps to dip left. Making up and renewing interior carpeting as necessary, Carrying out Driving Dynamics V600 Enhancements. Carrying out modifications to engine inter-cooler system, modifying throttle operation on potentiometer and re-setting engine set up for optimum performance. Removing handbrake callipers, dismantling, cleaning, lubricating and modifying to V600 specification. Installing new front and rear brake disc assemblies, larger front brake callipers, improved efficiency rear callipers, using replacement brake pads. Modifying front and rear suspension bump stops. Installing prated road springs, koni shock absorbers and anti-roll bars. Re-setting suspension ride heights and geometry settings. Re-working engine management system wiring, making up wiring harness, installing Traction Control System and mounting control switch to centre console. Mounting new tyres to lightweight Driving Dynamic wheels. Balancing and fitting new wheel nuts and centre cap badges. Removing exhaust system, repositioning chassis mountings and installing large bore Super Sport Exhaust System. Assembling and installing Driving Dynamics grille, Works Prepared and V600 badges. Carrying out auto-gearbox service, draining oil. Renewing filter, adjusting brake bands and kick down linkage, renewing sump gasket and renewing oil. Tracing electronic control fault an renewing unit. Removing hypoid rear cover, cleaning off leaking cover gasket, renewing gasket and renewing oil. Removing tyres from original wheels, fitting customer supplied winter tyres and balancing. Removing front suspension wishbones to renew mountings. Cleaning excess oil form engine, reporting on oil leaks, removing and renewing right hand front cover gasket. Renewing battery and windscreen wiper blades. Repairing poor cooling fan wiring terminals. Removing front indicator lamps, cleaning inside and re-sealing. Removing original telephone cradle and associated wiring. Tracing fault to door mirror operation and repairing wiring in door. Removing front spoiler sacrificial panels for repair. On examination found to be beyond repair, pre-fitting new panels and spraying. Investigating drivers seat back tilt mechanism inoperative, removing seat / back, repairing and adjusting mechanism. Removing left hand door check link, carry out adjustment, lubricating and re-assembling. Installing Tracker Horizon vehicle tracking system. Removing current audio head unit and wiring. Installing new alpine head unit with fold out pulse touch display screen, with satellite navigation and DVD / CD audio / video. Installing CD autochange to right hand side of luggage area with satellite navigation driver unit. Fabricating and trimming cover over CD and satellite navigation units, Installing independent radio aerial override switch to centre cubby base. Removing rear bumper, stripping out original proximity sensors, wiring and warning systems. Repairing bumper, fitting new sensors and re-spraying bumper. Removing front bumper and installing proximity sensors and spraying matching colour. Running wiring harnesses through car from front and rear sensors to centre console and mounting control panel below ashtray lid. Carrying out additional work required to complete full annual service. Carrying out extended road testing. Calibrating traction control and re-checking steering and suspension geometry etc.
