Praise for the Jaguar E-Type, since its launch at the Geneva Motor show in 1961, is exhaustive. There seems to be a poll for everything nowadays ½ greatest ever car, best looking car, prettiest car from the 1960s, the most iconic. The compilations go on and on. But at the top of every list ½ or if not the top, somewhere near to top ½ is the Jaguar E-Type. Even the most cynical of car enthusiasts cannot fail to admit that the E-Type is beautiful. There are few cars about which that can always be said. Yes, the looks perhaps faded in its old age, but when new both the roadster and the coupe were, and this word is no over exaggeration, sensational.
