Ferrari’s 550 Maranello heralded a return to the company’s roots in the grandest fashion. A two-seat, front-engined V-12 coupé had been absent from the company’s line-up since the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The decision was made to revive the format as a replacement for Ferrari’s mid-engine, flat-12 models. The result was an improvement over the outgoing F512 M, as it boasted superior performance, a larger and more comfortable interior, and a boot that could easily hold enough luggage to make it a grand tourer.
This beautiful Right Hand Drive 550 Maranello was originally supplied new by Ferrari Maranello Egham and first registered on the 1st August 1997. Specified in the classic colour combination of Rosso Corsa over Nero hide.
Having covered just 22,600 miles, the low mileage is a testimony to its sparing usage and generous maintenance. The interior and exterior are in beautiful condition. Accompanying the car is a complete set of owners hand books, including the service book, kept in the original leather wallet and the original toolkit.
On the road, this 550 performs faultlessly. A front engine V12 with the manual gearbox ensures a special driving experience as one of the best grand tourers. Refined power makes driving this car intoxicating, wondering how you could ever put it down. Considering its history and low mileage, our Ferrari 550 is a fantastic opportunity for any serious Ferrari driver and enthusiast.
