Burr veneer woodwork, Black hand-stitched leather steering wheel and matching Black and Magnolia dashboard. Black Wilton carpets throughout with Black leather binding and a brand new Black Mohair soft top with the correct West of England cloth headlining. Benefitting with being specially ordered from new with the highly desirable and sought after Electronic fuel injection system, Power bulge bonnet, 7” Cibie driving lights, Fully electric soft top with a heated ‘Glass’ rear window and BBS cross-spoke aluminium road wheels with Avon Turbospeed tyres fitted.
The EFi Volante was un-veiled to the world at the New York Motor Show in January 1986. Our example is one of the very last of line built in 1989 and was the 2nd to last Cannock Black car to be built from a production run of only 214 cars worldwide. Delivered new to the USA where #5801 benefitted with having just 3 owners and covered a warranted total mileage of only 24,558 miles since new.
Since being acquired by DD Classics we have carried out extensive works including a complete repaint in Cannock Black, refurbishment of all chrome, brand new Wilton carpets, tailor-made and cut to fit and then bound in glorious English Magnolia leather to match the main hide. The complete soft top was removed from the frame and all 3 parts replaced with brand new outer Black Mohair cloth, new inner insulation and then finally a new rear window and correct West of England headlining were fitted.
Both the dashboard and hood bag were removed and again re-trimmed to match the main hide. The attention to detail which has gone into these works is stunning as each stitch which is in the top roll can only be carried out by hand. The works which we have carried out to the car did not stop there. All of the woodwork was sent off for refurbishment and re-veneered and finally the car was dispatched to our own workshop to put the car through its paces and all final detailing and a pre-sale preparation service carried out.
Sitting proudly with gleaming Cannock Black coachwork, beautifully presented cockpit and highly detailed engine compartment this is a wonderful opportunity to be able to present one of these iconic and extremely special convertibles.
