Unveiled at the 1958 London Motor Show, the DB4 caused a sensation with its continental looks.
Although the design and construction techniques were Italian, the DB4 was the first Aston to be built at the company’s Newport Pagnell works in Buckinghamshire, England
Our car was dispatched from the works in July 1963. A final series edition, optional factory fitted equipment lists as follows: Overdrive, Special Series Engine, Chrome Wheels and Heated Rear Screen.
The Special Series (SS) or Vantage engine features three SU carbs and special cylinder heads, increasing power to 266 hp. In all, there were 136 saloons and 32 convertibles with the Vantage engine.
