Lancia’s development programme aimed at transforming the boxy-shaped, Giugiaro-designed Delta hatchback into a competitive rally car had been necessitated by the banning of the Group B supercars at the end of 1986. Badged as the ‘Delta HF 4WD’ on its introduction in 1986, the model retained the Volumex blower initially before switching to a straightforward turbo when transformed into the legendary Integrale in 1987. The latter would prove a supremely capable rally car yet in road trim remained a thoroughly practical family hatchback.
Presented in June 1993, the second Evolution version of the Delta HF Integrale featured an updated version of the 2-litre 16-valve turbo engine to produce more power, as well as a three-way catalyst and Lambda probe.
This example is one of the most iconic and sought after cars of its era, it is abundantly clear from the accompanying detailed service records, that this car has been lovingly maintained throughout its entire life. Presented in a lovely combination of Daytona Violet with brand new Tan hide sports seats, the Lancia also benefits from a Momo steering wheel, its overall appearance is stunning.
The Lancia Delta Integrale is undoubtedly a cult classic, a ‘hot hatch’ that was helped by a stellar competition history and one of the world’s most desirable badges on the bonnet. Now is your opportunity to own a fabulous and useable example, it is an essential addition to any classic car collection.
