One of the most alluring cars ever built, the Jaguar E-Type, instantly turned heads when it was introduced in 1961. British mathematician and aerodynamics expert Malcolm Sayer—known as “the man behind the curves”—designed the E-Type as a derivative of the Jaguar D-Type racing car he created, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for three consecutive years, 1955–1957.
In its 14-year history (1961–1975), the E-Type underwent three production versions. The Series 2 (1968–1971), marked the first major revisions of the car since its introduction, largely due to U.S. regulations. Changes included higher and uncovered headlights, a larger air intake on the bonnet, an upgraded cooling system, and better brakes. Other modifications included repositioned and larger front signal indicators, a wraparound rear bumper, and taillights below the bumper. The interior and instrument panel were also redesigned and new seats incorporated headrests, all resulting in a more user-friendly vehicle.
Our stunning Jaguar E-Type4.2 Roadster has been the recipient of a total nut and bolt restoration to the highest of standards. Accompanying the car is a photographic record of this remarkable restoration from start to finish and the car comes with its Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming its original colour scheme
Delightfully presented in Silver Metallic with superb Black leather interior and correct Black soft-top, it is the same colour scheme as it left the factory in 1969. The paintwork is stunning, as is the bright, unmarked chrome. Inside, the E-Type is equally as impressive, with matching Black carpets and top-roll complemented with a wooden-rimmed steering wheel it is a truly magnificent example that must be seen to be appreciated.
The car sits on immaculate chrome spoked wire wheels and has a beautifully detailed engine bay. On the button and easy to drive, it is a fabulous daily driver. For those looking for an iconic piece of British motoring history to add to their collection, our Jaguar could be the perfect contender.
